The presentation throughout IS excellent. The room was quiet.
I had issues. the shower did not work properly. I had to move rooms. the heating in the new room was on at 24c. I could not seem to turn it down. i had a poor night's sleep.

The staff was very friendly. They were attentive during the busy wedding event. The room was spacious and warm. The bed was particularly comfortable for sleeping. The food and drink were fantastic, and the high quality was evident during all services. I enjoyed walking around the beautiful grounds in the surrounding park.
The car park has a surcharge for hotel guests though I was staying at the accommodation.

My room was spacious and clean. It featured very comfortable beds ensuring a restful sleep. The decor complemented the building's historic style, with ample wardrobe space available. Blackout curtains helped to ensure darkness at night.

the grounds were acceptable for a short walk.
The hotel lacked air conditioning. I had to open the windows. the bar ran out of beer from both barrels at the same time.. that's a serious oversight. then, the toilet got blocked. I had to use the ones downstairs after breakfast.

I really LOVED the building. It has lots of character inside and out. Quiet nooks are throughout public spaces. Breakfast had EXCELLENT quality and the staff was very attentive. It is a convenient location for exploring the area.
I called and left several messages with the hotel but no one returned my call. I chose option 1 and left 4 messages BEFORE my stay! I asked for a room upgrade. Formally, one grade up was given. there's a £10 charge to park for hotel guests.
